Commercial AccountantSalary and benefits: Competitive Salary, Pension Matched to 7.5%, two Share Scheme options, 26 days Annual Leave, company car, Discounts at over 800 retailers, buy and sell up to 5 days holiday.Location: Commutable Distance to RickmansworthBusiness area: Utilities - UKPNClosing date for applications 17/09/2019Kier work in partnership with UKPN to distribute approximately 27% of the UK's electricity, serving 8 million homes and businesses in London, the South East and East of England.We are currently looking to recruit a Commercial Accountant to join the team in Rickmansworth, supporting a team of Quantity Surveyors.Key Responsibilities:Ensure all reporting requirements required for the integrity the business are completedEnsure that CVR reporting is accurate and providing sufficient challenge and support to the businessProvision of front line support to business segment management including attending local contract management and customer meetings where required, ensuring early warnings of deviation to Forecast are provided to local managementSupporting new contract tenders and mobilisations, establishing all financial reporting requirementsPreparation of business segment/overhead monthly reporting packs including full commentary and analysisCompletion of weekly cash forecasts and management of local working Capital i.e. WIP/DebtCompletion of Quarterly rolling forecasts and Annual Plans and Forecasts for business segmentBalance sheet analysis and reconciliation for key accountsBusiness partnering with Operations and Commercial team, forming part of the local management teamManage the interface between the business segment and relevant Shared Service or local support functions to ensure compliance with all Group, Services and Statutory obligationsAdditional ad hoc projects and tasks as required by line managerKey Skills and Qualifications:1 -2 years post qualification (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)Previous experience in a commercial accounting role post qualificationExperience within a position of similar responsibilityStrong Excel skillsFinancial modelling skills and a detailed understanding of financial forecasting is essentialAbility to manage pressure and meet strict deadlinesDemonstrable experience of challenging operational management at all levelsAttributesCan do attitude, hands on approachSelf-starter with strong driveChallenging and enquiring mindsetProblem solverLogical, systematic approach to multiple tasksAbility to multi-task and prioritise effectivelyAbility to robustly challenge internal and external stakeholders effectivelyAbout Kier:Make the journey.
