Job description
We need:

• Assistant Accountants at our Nationwide House office.

• Salary- £23,574 - £34,051 per annum, plus bonus and benefits (dependent on current salary and banding based on a 35 hour a week, permanent contract)

Who we're looking for
• An ambitious individual looking to further their career in Finance• A candidate with prior experience of working in a finance role.• A financial qualification is preferable but is not essential.

As a minimum you will have:• A strong finance background with knowledge and understanding of financial account and reporting• Ability to build strong relationships, both within your team and across the organisation• Analytical and creative approach to problem solving, being proactive to implement change• Microsoft Office package knowledge and skills, with a broad working knowledge of Excel• A strong customer ethos as you'll need to understand and deliver against customer requirements• Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads in order to meet stakeholder requirements

It would be nice if you had:• an AAT Qualification and be part qualified in ACCA, CIMA or ICAEW.
What you'll be doing
Sharing and expanding your accounting knowledge, whilst working in the fast-paced Efficiency and Cost Management Team supporting our for IT community in all financial aspects. You will be able to use your experience and enthusiasm to help the team deliver a high level of customer service and strive to improve process efficiencies.

Your role will include but not be limited to:

• Accounting - ensuring the monthly management accounting position is complete and accurate• Internal/external reporting - generating reports with variance analysis and commentary to show how the organisation is performing against its planned objectives• Forecasting - completing a forward-looking view of performance for the organisation based on future market assumptions• Compliance - taking ownership of the month end account reconciliation process• Business partnering - supporting key financial business decisions by challenging the norm and being creative• You will be able to contribute to the wider team by supporting projects and initiatives that improve how we work and the services we provide to our customers. This could be through sharing improvement ideas, identifying and removing barriers to our delivery and monitoring our service levels.
