Tax Technology - Test Analyst and Application Support, Associate

The opportunity
We are looking for talented professional at associate level to be part of our rapidly growing Tax Technology team based in Kuala Lumpur that provides tax technology services and drives the adoption of technology solutions to help deliver values to our business through the following:

• Tax technology strategy and road mapping
• Tax operating model transformation and process improvement
• Development and enhancement of customised technology applications
• Digital transformation, data improvement and analytics
• Emerging technologies including robotic process automation (RPA), artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, cloud solutions, data lake development and business intelligence innovation

• Change management

Your key responsibilities
You will be working closely with the Quality Assurance Manager within a cross-functional tax technology team, responsible for the delivery of tested systems into UAT and Production environment as well as specialised assistance to end-users relating to our tax technology solutions. As part of the service delivery team, you will be playing a pivotal role in the following areas:

Ø Quality Assurance (Testing)
• Collaborates within the team to develop a strong understanding of the product features, its intended capabilities and objectives
• Performs thorough analysis of requirements specifications and design documentation; uses structured techniques to identify testable conditions and develop test approaches
• Provides estimation on testing effort required
• Executes various types of software testing activities
• Provides feedback on usability and practical issues relating to user experience (UX)
• Crafts technical deliverables, i.e. Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Scripts and Defect Reports
• Analyses test results and tracks issues towards timely resolution
• Participates in project team meetings and responsible for test status reports

Ø End-User Support
• Attends to queries from end-users relating to the relevant software applications
• Diagnoses faults and identifies solutions
• Escalates to higher level where necessary and follows through towards resolutions and communication to users
• Assists in software maintenance e.g. user access controls etc
• Facilitates induction training for new joiners on the relevant software applications
• Provides support during our Firm's events

In addition, there will be opportunity for you to be involved in business analysis tasks as well as data analytics assignments.

To qualify for the role you must have
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information System or any other discipline in Technology
• 1 year of working experience in software testing or similar capacity
• High proficiency in general IT skills
• Willing to provide end-user support and event support outside the business hours

Ideally, you'll also have
• Certification from software testing certification bodies such as ISTQB
• Knowledge on Microsoft technologies and defect management tools
• Basic knowledge on accounting or finance processes
• Experience in using test automation tools
• Willing to go for domestic and international travel depending on project needs
