The opportunity to join as an Accounts Assistant - Temp to Perm in a role offering great flexibility and gain exposure in a varied role. This role will involve training however does need someone with a good grounding with the ability to assist across varying sectors of the company.

Based within Luton, they are an easy commute for anyone located in Luton, Bedford, Milton Keynes, or the surrounding area with easy access to public transport.


The Accounts Assistant - Temp to Perm duties and responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of parts of the Purchase and Sales Ledger and managing the company ledgers
  • Processing and Raising Invoices using SageLine 50
  • Preparing financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable
  • Completing bank reconciliations, including entry of payments and receipts of sales - Monthly
  • Processing journals and assisting with month end procedures
  • Completing financial reports on a regular basis and providing information to the finance team
  • Assisting with Financial Forecasting and Budgeting
  • Support the Finance lead during Annual Audit
  • Credit Control - chasing debt to maintain debt ledger as and when required
  • Weekly cash and credit card reconciliations to identify any variances
  • Assisting the Payroll team as and when needed
  • Processing expenses
  • Any ad-hoc duties as required by the Line Manager


Desired experience and skill set for this Accounts Assistant - Temp to Perm role:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Part Qualified in either ACCA/CIMA/ACA or AAT Qualified
  • Previous experience of working in a similar commercial fast paced environment
  • Capable of working using own initiative to anticipate and resolve iissues
  • Accuracy and excellent attention to detail
  • Highly analytical and numerate
  • Locally based in Luton with your own transport
  • Strong Excel skills to include pivot tables and VLOOKUPS - Sage 50 experience preferred
  • Flexible team player
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a busy environment to strict deadlines
  • Desire to improve processes and commit to the role for the next 2-3 years, growing within the position
