We are seeking a CFO for a fast fashion retailer headquartered in North London. The business operates a network of retail stores (c.100) and has a strong online presence, selling men's, women's and children's wear. There is equity available for the new CFO.
The business is focusing on redefining its physical store presence, and continuing to build its online channel. Following on from a recent financial restructure which has given the business long term financial stability, its future has been assured and it is now looking to build on this particularly through its online channel. As part of the restructure, it is now looking to hire a CFO who can lead the business through its next stage of growth.
The new CFO will have retail experience, preferably across store and online channels. They will have taken a business through challenging circumstances, perhaps a restructure or turnaround and they will have helped to implement new processes and modelling structures.
Now all financial issues have been brought to the fore, the focus of the future is around cashflow, financial modelling, accurate accounting and effective banking arrangements.
The Role:
- This is a crucial hire and this person will be instrumental in the further restructuring of the business
- Effective day to day management of accounts, cashflow, banking facilities and modelling
- Long term strategic planning including banking / financing arrangements
- A true partner to the CEO and a leader across the business including holding key relationships with buying, merchandising, HR and payroll
- Leadership of the accounts department and wider finance team, ensuring efficient and effective delivery
- Lead ad hoc projects from time to time and as required by the CEO
The Person:
- Must have previous Finance Director / Chief Financial Officer experience in an entrepreneurial retail environment (preferably in a business with both stores and online channels)
- Experience of restructuring
- Extensive experience in progressively responsible financial leadership roles
- A qualified accountant or equivalent (CPA,ACA,ACCA,ACMA or equivalent)
- Collaborative, committed and with a passion for retail
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with the board, shareholders, banks but also staff on the shop floor
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
Package
The salary will be dependent upon experience but the package will consist of a six figure salary, an equity stake and company benefits.
Location
The role will be based in North London and some national travel may be required.
