Imperial Health  Sciences- Ghana seeks the services of an Accountant to provide support in the management of all financial operations of IHS Ghana. 

Key Performance Areas: 

Cash and Bank

  • Compile petty cash reconciliation with supporting documentation and process in SAP
  • Daily cash management to ensure availability of funds for operations
  • Capture EFT payments on electronic banking platform
  • Acquire bank statements and reconcile timeously
  • Liaise with relationship team to resolve all banking issue


  • Review and submit warehousing and freight forwarding / transportation billing for various IHS International clients to the Finance department
  • Review and reconcile all PODs post distribution 
  • Prepare and submit billing to all SPM and other clients

Debtors Management

  • Manage all SPM  and other debtors to ensure timely collection
  • Liaise with clients on accounts queries
  • Manage accounts receivables aging

Accounts Payable

  • Process all invoices received from suppliers on SAP 
  • Follow up on contractual invoices not received by end of month to ensure that all costs for the month are captured
  • Process supplier payments within contractual terms and review and manage accounts payable aging on a monthly basis


  • Provide monthly input to Payroll for salaries
  • Review data from Payroll to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations

General Ledger and Monthly Reporting

  • Process journals on a daily and monthly basis as required – accruals, prepayments, etc 
  • Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet review file
  • Prepare Hyperion Pack for review on a monthly basis
  • Prepare monthly Forex schedule and including reconciliation to check reasonability
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements


Auditing and Budgeting

  • Manage external and internal audit procedures and preparations
  • Support budget preparation process


  • Compile a monthly VAT reconciliation, perform a reasonableness test and make payments 
  • Compile monthly PAYE and Pension contributions and make payments
  • Prepare and submit CIT self-assessment and ensure quarterly payments are made
  • Prepare and submit CIT Returns
  • Prepare and submit transfer pricing returns

Document Maintenance

  • Keep all required documentation confidentially, and in an orderly manner for easy retrieval

Assets and Insurance

  • Review and maintain assets register according to Imperial policies
  • Review and update insurance policies as required by Imperial policy and Local regulations

Qualifications Required

  • First degree in an accounting related field
  • Certified by a recognised Accounting Body e.g. ACCA, ICAG, CIMA 

Skills and Experience Required 

  • 5 years relevant post qualification experience
  • Knowledge and experience in Ghana finance regulations 
  • Computer and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, SAP and/or Pastel 
  • Analytical skills, attention to detail
  • Ability to interact at a high level with clients, senior management and national authorities  
  • Ability to work in a team environment
