As a member of the RTR/AP EMEA Leadership team, reporting to the EMEA RtR/AP Director, the purpose of the EMEA RTR Revenue Leader role is to manage the successful operation of the EMEA Revenue Record to Report function from both an operational and strategic perspective. Based in Dublin, the role has responsibility for the day-to-day management of the finance revenue accountant team as well as a setting a vision for the revenue function for the medium to long-term, delivering critical operational excellence improvements and complex accounting projects in order to increase the value-add to the business. This role plays a critical Leadership role in providing Record to Report (RTR) business partnership and functional support to senior stakeholders and strategic business unit leaders. Oversight for Revenue Recognition adherence to IR Policy, US GAAP, and Local Statutory requirements. Coordinate and ensure reliable revenue reporting for each SBU (Sector Business Unit) in EMEA region. Responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger accounts and handling all RTR activities that fall within this transactional group. Ensure proper internal controls and financial compliance for Revenue related areas to ensure reliable process and accurate financial reporting. The role will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of all Revenue transactions through the EMEA Trading Hub and EMEA commercial Entities. The role will directly manage a team of (5) with direct budget Management responsibilities. Responsibilities •Partner as a trusted advisor with key stakeholders and strategic business unit leaders, building strong sustainable relationships, to truly understand the business needs, and ensure these needs are prioritized and integrated into the work delivered by the revenue accounting team •Lead the Revenue accounting monthly close processes, maintaining the accuracy and integrity of general ledgers, sub ledgers and accounts falling under these activities. •Meet monthly closing and regional reporting requirements •Ensure timely and accurate reconciliations of balance sheet accounts managed by this group with accounting performed in accordance with corporate procedures and GAAP/IFRS. •The Revenue Accounting activities include; •Revenue Recognition/Deferred Revenues and associated journal handling •Factory overheads and non- production expense e.g. Freight/OSMI •Improving the Accuracy of Goods in Transit Accounting •Customer Incentive Accounting and Distributor commissions •Warranty Provisioning •PPV and IPV Investigations/Transaction Tracing on behalf of SBU's •Margin Analytics to improve 1st time accuracy •Backlog Order Book preparation and submission •Tax Driven Inter-Company Re-charge Accounting and Review •Accounting for Progress payments (Projects) •Balance Sheet Reconciliations •Lead and participate in lean accounting, project and process initiatives, modelling the IR Leadership operational excellence skills in BOS (Business Operating System).Projects could include automating accounting routines, reducing manual journal entries, supporting reporting excellence and driving productivity actions. •Supporting SMART (Oracle Transformation) and Trading Platform roll out. •Inspire, engage, coach for performance and meet the training needs of a team of 5-6 revenue accountants whilst developing talent for the IR Organization. •Support the Compliance leader and external Audit with their requirements as well as Sarbanes Oxley - Management test work. •Address and rectify compliance issues within area of responsibility. •Use performance metrics and KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) effectively •Working effectively with other RtR teams and other functions Key Competencies: Financial Analysis -Understand financial indicators, ratios and measures across financial statements. Identify trends and patterns to generate meaningful insights, forecast and communicate unbiased, data-driven recommendations. Drive approved recommendations to completion Accounting - Ensuring proper accounting for income statement and balance sheet accounts under USGAAP and local (statutory) rules. Particular focus on subjective accounts, such as timing of revenue and expense recognition, warranty, bad debt, inventory and legal reserves, commissions, warranty, and intercompany accounting. Prepare and review account reconciliations and statutory financial statements, lead balance sheet functional reviews with SBU and Corporate team members, and demonstrate knowledge of transaction impacts to cash flow (operating & free cash flow) Project Management 1 - Apply knowledge, skills, tools, techniques, and standard work to project activities to meet required business case and deliverables. Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control projects. Understand and demonstrate skills to manage project cost, product cost, risks, contracts, and integrated scope change control processes. Develop and execute resourced schedules while applying work breakdown structures and managing deadlines Trusted Advisor - Partner and manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships, use trust and influence with key stakeholders to provide insight and thought leadership to get people aligned and moving in the same direction| drive high performance and achieve business results| identify change impacts and opportunities| quickly address challenges, work to solve the most critical problems and accelerate the change to capture the benefits Close Management - Execute monthly financial close activities, working with internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless, timely and accurate close process. Understand material transactions which occur in the period and apply accounting policies and rules to arrive at proper outcome. Consolidate trial balances for entity, SBU, segment and/or enterprise. Prepare internal and external financial statements for management review or regulatory filings Business Acumen - Understand the industry, customers, operating model and competitive advantage of our businesses. Demonstrate knowledge of business objectives (short-term and long-term) and clearly understands challenges where necessary and drives execution of objectives. Financial Processes & Controls - Proactively identify, implement and manage sound financial processes, policies and controls for the enterprise. Leverage operational excellence to drive continuous improvement and standard work through the Business Operating System (BOS). Analyze the impact of changing regulations, (e.g. US GAAP, Tax, IFRS, and Treasury) and make recommendations to address and reduce complexity Financial Tools Acumen - Leverage existing financial systems and tools to facilitate decision making, planning, and control and performance evaluation across the enterprise. Leverage existing and embrace new technology solutions to improve financial accuracy, efficiency and productivity Education & Experience: Relevant experience in a business facing accounting leader role in a multinational company as well as Professional Accountant Qualification (CA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA), and ideally possesses a University degree Experience of working in a finance shared service environment.
