Our client is look for a Semior Controller with logistics industry experience for their risk and ops control room. Note that this position requires shift work.
• Supervising day to day operations of the Risk and Operational Control Room and problem solving;
• Ensure that the approved systems in place are utilized and incidents are processed quickly, accurately and timeously;
• Monitor individual performance ensuring high level of performance;
• Ensuring that Standard Operation Procedures affecting the operational and risk environment are adhered to;
• Driver, Incident & Risk reporting on dash boards to senior management and directors;
• Assisting with counseling and discipline of controllers;
• Managing Linehaul Ops Control Room Controllers and ensuring that their daily tasks are performed as required and assist them where necessary;
• Assisting senior management and directors with any special requests;
• Managing and taking accountability for Risk related incidents for example but not limited to Hijackings, Accidents, Breakdowns in High Risk areas or carrying High Value loads, Route Violations and Critical Alerts;
• Ensure that all incidents as mentioned in point 8 are escalated to senior management.
• To co-ordinate operational activities effectively as instructed per hand over from the respective operational division;
• Incident report (IR)-This must be made and sent out as soon as it is reported and further details to the report can be updated and sent out later. Ensure that IR reports are professional and free from grammatical errors;
• Allocation updates Vehicles need to be monitored and positions recorded, ensure that the Ops Controllers monitor the departure times and other instructions by Ops Management. Verify and confirm data from the allocations is received timeously and accurate with emphasis being placed on the high-risk depots i.e. Gauteng;
• Alert Manager (IR) - Ensure that the controller managing the alerts is monitoring and actioning alerts correctly and efficiently;
• Breakdowns Ensure that breakdowns are managed timeously and escalated if necessary;
• Assist controllers by taking over difficult telephonic conversations with drivers and clients to avoid argumentative discussions and to ensure that they are managed professionally and efficiently.
