Group Financial Accountant

Group Financial Accountant Plc Excellent opportunity to join the Group finance function of a leading Irish Plc that is undergoing a well publicised expansion plan. The team is responsible for the full scale management of finances throughout the group including subsidiaries. The role will involve reporting to the group financial controller where duties will include: Monthly management accounts preparation Year end accounts preparation for group and subsidiaries Managing the year end and half year end audits Involvement in acquisitions and disposals from an accounting perspective Annual budgets and quarterly forecasts - working with senior process leaders and cost centre management to produce forecasts and budgets, reviewing & challenging assumptions, variance analysis and supporting for presentations to group executive Design and implementation of budget/forecast reporting packs to improve efficiency and variance analysis Monthly reporting - including variance analysis and commentary Working closely with the tax team Requirements for this Role Ideal candidate will be a newly qualified accountant who has a couple of years financial accounting or internal audit experience in a large corporate. Strong candidates coming directly from a Big 4 practice at assistant manager/manager level will also be considered. Strong excel skills, good commercial acumen and a solid level of technical accounting knowledge are essential to succeed in this role.
