Our client is looking for a self-motivated individual to join their dynamic team.
Responsibilities include:
- Leadership
o Developing/maintaining a high performing team
o Ensuring that the team is appropriately resourced
o Ensuring that Credit Controller KPI's / KPA's are aligned to achieve objectives
o Ensuring that talent is identified, groomed and retained
o Ensuring that poor performance is effectively managed
- Credit Risk and internal controls
o Ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures are consistently applied and robust to mitigate credit risk
o Ensuring that credit risk is maintained at an appropriate level
o Identifying, prioritizing and escalating high credit risk situations
o Identifying, developing, implementing and monitoring key internal controls
- Operational effectiveness
o Driving collections in terms of overdue
o Driving confirmations for effective collections
o Ensuring efficient and effective workflow throughout operations
o Ensuring that the take on of new clients is effective and efficient
- Client relationships
o Implementing and monitoring the client management framework
o Finding the balance in the relationship between the Company, client and the debtor to ensure a smooth deployment and effective management of the client's debtor's book while reducing the credit risk of the Company
o Managing client's feedback to ensure that the service levels are maintained and improved
o Building a strong relationship with internal stakeholders
- Reporting / Metrics
o Providing appropriate reporting and metrics that ensure that the appropriate business drivers receive the appropriate focus
o Ensuring that key metrics are focused on and recognized to achieve objectives
o Understanding key risk indicators and prioritizing activities to eliminate material risks
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Matric with higher education of either a diploma/degree in Credit Management (excluding 1, 2, 3 & 4), Business Management and/or related discipline
- Minimum of 10 years experience gained in a Credit and Collections environment
- Minimum of 3 years leadership experience
- Excellent understanding of the Credit & Risk environment
