Pure is delighted to be working exclusively with our client to help recruit the position of Financial Controller. As a growing Group of companies (current revenue £18m with growth plans), it is essential that the FC is highly commercial and not just focussed on the technical side.

Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for the financial and management reporting. You will play a role in strategy, long term planning and short term financial modelling and performance reporting.

You will form an integral part of the management team influencing its strategic direction and shaping the future success of the business. Provide leadership throughout the finance function, developing systems and processes, delivering a full range of financial reporting. This is a hands on role where commercial business partnering will form a large part of the role as you work closely with various areas of the business to improve sales, margins and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide detailed monthly management accounts with all relevant KPI's and analysis
• Weekly reporting to the sales and operational team
• Creation of annual budget, monthly forecasting and communicating results with all relevant managers
• Cash flow reporting and cash management
• Profitability and margin reporting/control
• Preparation of annual statutory returns
• Provide stewardship' to the CEO to ensure business decision are justified financially
• Involvement with acquisitions

The successful candidate will be a commercially minded, fully qualified accountant with proven experience within the retail industry a distinct advantage. Strong systems experience and interpersonal skills will be essential.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience

• Qualified Accountant - CIMA/ACCA/ACA
• Previous experience working within an SME environment
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to add value
• Managing a team of 5. Organisation skills - able to prioritise and plan own and teams work load
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written at all levels
• Ability to analyse data, interpret & relay information
