Bonfire Recruitment are retained in the recruitment of a Financal Controller for their large FMCG manufacturing client in the North West of England, UK. Recognised as one of the UK's most quality focussed supplier of own label food products to supermarkets such as M&S , the Co-operative and Tesco our client has a requirement for a hands on Financial Controller to lead a new chapter in the growth of this highly profitable food manufacturing organisation. The Financial Controller will be an exceptional accountant with outstanding commercial awareness, leadership and credibility in commerce or industry and this role will focus on performance, strategy, analysis and profitability. Being a key and a integral member of the Site Leadership Team you will also be involved in the future strategy planning onsite and have exposure to external stakeholders. Responsibilities of the opportunity:Drive the profitability of the UK business and meet or exceed its annual budget and future strategic targets, through close supervision of all aspects of the P&L performance of the business, and its use of working capital Provide strategic and financial direction, commercial insight and judgement about on-going operations, promoting and supporting actions and activities that will ensure long term growth in profitability of the division Act as a key member of the site executive team in driving the business forward and engaging effectively with the colleagues in shaping and executing profitable performance and strategic objectives Ensure the business meets all external reporting standards and reflecting these in the accounting records Take financial ownership of the annual strategic planning and budgeting process Review and control weekly cash flow performance Contribute to strategy and policy setting of the business Active involvement in special projects from a strategic and financial perspective - This could include acquisitions, significant CAPEX, change management etc Manage ongoing relationships with auditors, advisors, banks and the rest of the financial community. The successful Applicant: Professionally qualified accountant with a suitable finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification work experience, preferably in an FMCG / manufacturing environment. Experience in external relations such as auditors, banks, insurers with a relevant and successful track record. A background in Food Manufacturing with considerable experience of commercial dealings with the large multiples Category knowledge and a strong awareness of the operations and manufacturing side of food, drink or FMCG manufacturing The Finance Controller will take pride in ensuring the professional development of the team and play an active commercial and financial role in all aspects of the business.
