Part Qualified Management Accountant £23,000 - £27,000

Rapidly expanding retail organisation in North East Derbyshire have an opportunity for a talented CIMA / ACCA studying Assistant FC / Management Accountant. The role will support the FC and you will work very closely on a number of projects designed to improve the overall efficiency of the finance function. You will be looking to join a growing business and you must be expecting to qualify over the next 1-2 years. The FC needs to find an ambitious individual capable of progressing and developing and the business continues to expand. Your remit will include: heavy involvement in the preparation and presentation of detailed management accounts. Variance analysis and reporting (adding narrative to the board pack with help from the FC), commercial analysis surround margin, profitability, sales and overheads trends, variance to budget and forecast. You must also be hands on and be comfortable getting involved in all areas of transactional accounting (AP, AR, credit control and possibly Payroll). You will ideally: Have gained exposure to a broad range of core practical accounting skills; Assisting in management accounts preparation, accruals and prepayments, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, VAT returns, fixed assets. You will also have begun studying toward a professional qualification (ACA / ACCA or CIMA). The business would be best suited to an outgoing, confident and highly proactive assistant accountant looking for a career step. The role will involve working on projects with colleagues from outside the finance team and you must therefore have good communication skills and an ability to build strong working relationships with a high degree of confidence. You will need to be self motivated and well organised - the business is growing and you will gain more and more responsibility as your experience within the business develops.
