Finance Business Partner

The role

The position is for a tech/AI group of companies. As the Finance business partner, you will work closely with the business units of the holding company, creating a real and active partnership with both operations and management. Your role is to provide 'real time' support and analysis, to be a trusted adviser and to add value that will assist in decision making. Critical to your success is an ability to communicate your message, to understand your audience and deliver the information in a clear and user-friendly manner. It is this mix of analytical, commercial and communication skills which are at the heart of successful finance business partnering.

Responsibilities

· CFO’s of division with bottom line responsibility for P&L and BS reporting

· Partner with Business - Challenge thought process and provide analysis and tools for key decision making

· Financial performance monitoring and reporting

· Review and approval of contracts and other commercial arrangements

· Budgeting & Planning and Short-term forecasting (CE) including cash

· Business case, P.O. and Invoice approvals

· Create and maintain project-based budgets and track actual performance

Requirements

· You are commercially aware, understanding and anticipating the needs of both operations and management

· You have strong core business skills including influencing, stakeholder management and presentation skills

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with good attention to detail

· You interpret data, order and assess its value and then present the findings to the relevant stakeholders clearly and concisely

· You must be able to form and stand over your opinions, have a well-developed sense of ethics and be prepared to stand up for these principles

· You should be comfortable with risk and working with ambiguity

· You learn from the past but are future orientated

· You ensure accurate and timely financial management information is prepared with detailed analysis of spend.

· Work in close partnership with the group and business units to provide accurate, timely and comprehensive annual budgets as well as monthly re-forecasts.

· Cost review to ensure costs are reported in the correct legal entities.

· You build strong relations and provide financial support to commercial decision making.

· Challenge business managers to ensure that all concepts have been properly considered before presenting to the business.

· You challenge current ways of working, driving efficiencies and cost savings wherever possible

· You are comfortable dealing with and working through issues and operational challenges with, getting into details to ensure you understand the cost drivers of the business and can provide insight to the non-finance members

· Be dependent on your resourcefulness and ability to influence and partner with finance teams in the business units together with non-finance managers.

· You are determined and assertive, prepared to get into the detail to understand the complex cost drivers of the business.

· You have good time management skills, ability to prioritise workload and ability to work to strict reporting deadlines.
