Description
This role entails:
- Produce robust analysis and regular reports to support credit risk oversight ensuring the company remains within its stated risk appetite.
- Preparation of credit risk reporting across all portfolios
- Provide insight into trends and recommend changes to reports / analysis as appropriate
- Produce analysis enabling the monitoring of credit risk management
- Plan, prioritise and effectively manage workload to meet objectives
- Investigate and recommend new data sources to enhance credit risk analytics across the company
- Oversight and 2nd line comment on business line proposal
- Support the development of effective risk frameworks across the company.
- Use data to drive appropriate challenge to risk measures and to enable refinement of assumptions.
- Provide analysis supporting reviews of credit loss assumptions and scenario analysis.
- Provide support to Finance in the production of financial statements including accounts and Pillar 3 disclosures
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure data and assumptions are valid, robust and accurate
- Ensure that risk strategies and models are implemented successfully and add value.
- Keep abreast of strategic changes within the business to ensure models remain valid and accurate.
- Use knowledge of the business and experience to make recommendations on assumptions and inputs used within the models
- Share knowledge and experience and collaborate with other areas of the business
- Actively assist manager and colleagues to transfer knowledge between teams and departments and be aware of and champion best practices within all aspects of analytics.
Profile
The ideal candidate will/have:
- Extensive analytical experience, with an aptitude for data mining and problem solving
- Prior experience of developing, documenting and producing regular reports
- Experienced in the use of SAS/SQL to produce analysis
- Proven experience in credit risk analytics in financial services
- Demonstrate a rational, pragmatic, disciplined and methodical approach to delivery
- Engagement with external counterparts such as credit reference agencies
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
- Knowledge of Credit Bureau Data
- Good knowledge of modern risk management techniques and in the use of risk models within a financial services environment.
- Excellent communication, organisational and influencing skills.
