Summary of the Role's Main Purpose* To provide timely, accurate financial reports, analysis and budgets supporting Retail decision making. Principal Accountabilities* Build an understanding of the labour systems, processes, initiatives and accounting within Group.* Continually challenge current methods of reporting to ensure that the best information is given to stakeholders and all reports are fit for purpose. * Challenge and influence users of the information provided to ensure that they fully understand the information and are drawing the right conclusions and actions from it.* Oversee the period end process ensuring the integrity of corporate labour numbers in the P&L and on the balance sheet. * Support the wider Retail Finance Team in reporting daily sales and waste performance to the wider business. * Ad hoc analysis on labour performance as requested by the Senior Labour Analyst, Zone Finance Managers and other business stakeholders.* Drive cross functional engagement whilst building good working relationships with key stakeholders including Labour Productivity, Lead Labour ROMs and Store Managers and Zone Finance Managers.* Responsible for timely and accurate periodic performance and variance analysis to the Financial Planning and Senior Retail Teams.* Responsible for the periodic latest view process ensuring a detailed understanding of the key risks and opportunities to the P&L.* Taking responsibility for elements of the quarterly budget process, by engaging with key stakeholders and refining current methodologies. * Supporting in the creation of the periodic Retail Leadership pack, providing insightful analysis and discussion topics.* Responsible for supporting and challenging the Operational Efficiency team on projects that will impact the labour cost line.* Responsible for driving own development through spending time with team members and regularly asking for feedback.Measures of Success:* Facilitate informed business decision making through insightful analysis and papers.* Provision of relevant analysis which is translated into meaningful commentary and drives actions.* Delivery of value-add review of corporate and supermarket labour performance to support action planning, underpinning delivery of budgets and forecasts.* Delivery of key business reports to deadlines and ensure that they are right first time. * Support the period end process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of period end accounts and producing relevant and insightful variance analysis. * Supporting delivery of robust budgets and forecasts to corporate timetable, with full ownership of embedded savings.* Building strong working relationships with key stakeholders and developing a network across the wider Finance team.Core Areas of Knowledge, Skills & ExperienceEssential* Qualified / Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)* Demonstrated ability to deliver robust reports to agreed deadlines* Advanced Excel skills* Demonstrated analytical and process improvement experience* High level of energy and drive* Strong self organisational skills* Ability to work independently and use initiative as well as working within a close knit teamDesirable* Experience of using EDW and Oracle* Retail or Store Admin experience
