Group Accountant

A brilliant FTSE Consumer business is looking to recruit a newly qualified ACA/ACCA as their Group Accountant. This is a great opportunity for someone who has recently qualified in practice to make their first move into industry with a highly respected retailer with excellent career prospects. Reporting into the Group Reporting Manager, this role will involve:* Production and management of a number of company and subsidiary accounts in line with IFRS or UK GAAP* Assistance with accounting for property, financing and tax structures in line with Corporate Finance and business requirements* Management of accounting integration for relevant acquisitions and disposals* Preparation and agreement of timetable for statutory accounts process both internally & with external auditors* Liaison with external auditors where necessary* To assist the production of the periodic Income Statement and Balance Sheet consolidated Group position * Preparation of period end Balance sheet and related commentary* Preparation of period end, half year and year end cash flow statement* Budgeting & forecasting for the Holding Companies, in conjunction with relevant divisions and providing analysis and commentary on any large variances* Budgeting & forecasting for the allocated balance sheet accounts* Perform a high standard of ad hoc analysis supporting the CFO and the financial planning and reporting team * Ad hoc around new accounting standards and interpretations and the impact on the groups accounting treatmentThe successful candidate will be ACA/ ACCA qualified from Practice with experience of auditing complex listed clients ideally within the retail or consumer sector. Strong IFRS technical accounting knowledge is essential. Whilst you will be strong technically, you will also have great interpersonal skills and be looking to develop your career within the company whether in Group, FP&A or commercial finance.
