Grafton Banks Finance is currently recruiting for a Commercial Accountant for a large technology company with offices in Chertsey, Surrey. You will be a nearly or newly qualified accountant, (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) in order to apply and have confident analytical and excel skills. The primary purpose of the role is to manage the process of contracting and accounting for commercial terms and conditions agreed with customers, as well as sales incentives offered to customers. The role should also ensure that all such terms and incentives drive a strong commercial return. * Manage the day-to-day process of accounting for sales deductions undertaken by the Business Division to drive revenue and margin. * Evaluate the return on investment of these activities, steer business decisions and support the Business Division in maximising their commercial return. * Ensure all commercial terms and conditions, and sales incentives are properly documented and agreed either via the relevant contract templates or Deal Sheets. Maintain an up-to-date contract log of all commercial terms and conditions. * Take accountability for the processing of all financial transactions around sales deductions in the company's financial and legal systems. * Ensure that these costs and accruals are completely and accurately recorded, correctly classified, that spend is appropriately justified and within budget/authority limits, and that supporting processes are efficient and effective. * Responsible for the managing the monthly financial planning process for the Division in conjunction with the Senior Commercial Finance Manager and key business division stakeholders * The role requires extensive communications with sales team to help them substantiate deals in accruals and periodically update them with accrual/payment status * Support the Senior Commercial Finance Manager as required in driving the financial performance of the Division (e.g. financial appraisal of major deals/initiatives, providing value-added analysis and reporting). * Providing additional ad-hoc financial support as required by Senior Commercial Finance Manager Produce regular management reporting on activities performed by the Finance Operations function, in particular, sales deduction processing and accounts receivable This is an excellent opportunity for someone nearing the end of their studies or is now newly qualified looking to progress their career in a large global organisation which can offer multiple future career options in the UK and abroad.
