Job DescriptionReporting to the Chief Operations Officer, The Finance Director's primary duties include the fiscal stewardship, in collaboration with counterparts at FUV, of both TUIV and FUV resources and oversight of all aspects of the university's accounts, fundraising income, grants and contracts and providing operational support for TUIV. The Director will work closely with TUIV's senior management team, the Board of Directors and its Audit Committee as well as the leadership of FUV to maximize the effectiveness of TUIV's philanthropic and management partnership with FUV.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with TUIV Chief Operating Officer TUIV and FUV senior management teams in all financial matters and planning initiatives through financial and management information analysis, reports, and recommendations.Anticipate TUIV and FUV organizational needs and provide strategic recommendations to the Chief Operating Officer, Board as well as the TUIV and FUV senior management teams on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis.Support efforts to diversify current funding streams beyond federal government grants to include: alternative sources of grant funding including multi–lateral donors; foundations; corporate and major gifts; and help to build an endowment.Establish systems, policies and practices needed to position TUIV for long–term fundraising success including but not limited to: selecting a donor management system and designing key policies related to gift processing, donor recognition, and donor reporting.Prepare for and manage the consolidated audit of TUIV & FUV performed by the independent CPA firm.Manage TUIV's day to day financial operations (contracts and procurement, payroll, bookkeeping, cash flows, etc.) Coordinate the development and monitoring of individual and consolidated budgets with the leadership of TUIV.Oversee banking relationships including lines of credit, particularly as it pertains to the Campus build out.Develop and utilize forward–looking, predictive models and activity–based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization's operations and business plans. QualificationsAdvanced degree in Accounting or Finance, MS or MBA, and CPA preferred7–10 years of financial management experience requiredUnderstanding of higher–education systems and financial management requiredSkills And AttributesStrategic leader and big picture thinker; confident working collaboratively with diverse groups of people at all levels throughout an organization in a multi–site, preferably multi–country environment.Track record of success in developing a collaborative working environment and implementing systems, policies and procedures within Finance and Administration that promote accountability and streamline processes.A collaborative, team–focused and flexible management style; strong service mentality and a willingness to roll up sleeves to get the job done. Meticulous attention to detail.High level communicator and effective presenter; advanced written and oral communication skills.
