Accountant

This highly regarded local firm of chartered accountants and tax advisors, with an extensive client base, is currently seeking to appoint an experienced accountant and manager to their Bedfordshire based team. The role will suit a qualified accountant presently working within practice or alternatively one with a prior practice background and who is perhaps re-considering opportunities in the sector

Reporting to Managing Partner and with firm future opportunities for a director / partnership, your role will be to manage and existing team of 5 and oversee the day to day accounts preparation for a broad range of clients

As Managing Accountant, your key responsibilities will be:

• Managing workflows in order to ensure deadlines are met
• Accounts preparation, problem solving and query resolutions
• Personal and corporation taxes
• Reviewing various files and returns prepared by the team
• Reviewing monthly and weekly client payrolls
• Developing and building client relationships
• Supervision and training of a team of 5 Accountants and 1 Payroll clerk

ACA or ACCA qualified, you'll have previous management experience and the ability to lead and effectively manage a small team of accountants at various levels. You also be experienced with a range of accountancy software packages and possess excellent inter-personal/communication skills and a confident, outgoing personality
