Assistant Accountant - Accounts Preparation - Edinburgh - £Competitive Salary
Your new company
Your new organisation is a long-standing and leading independent Chartered Accountancy firm which provides comprehensive tax and accountancy services to a variety of businesses across a range of sectors throughout the country, from HNWIs and sole traders to medium-sized businesses. Given internal developments and dramatic growth, Hays is partnered with the firm to seek a motivated Assistant Accountant to join their Accounts Department.
Your new role
You will be working joining the Accounts Preparation Department, as an Assistant Accountant. You will be mainly responsible for the preparation of year-end accounts for a range of highly varied range of clients. You will be working on a portfolio of up to 100 clients, who have a turnover of up to £10 million; from sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, pension schemes and LLP's. You will also prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns. You will be using software such as Xero, FreeAgent, Iris, Sage, Excel and Word, so knowledge of these is beneficial.
What you'll need to succeed
You will come from a Practice background with at least 18 months experience. You will be experienced in preparing statutory accounts, with knowledge of management accounts being desired but not necessary. You will be a Part-Qualified (ACCA/AC) individual, seeking growth and progression. You will have to manage various work flows at the same time, so time-management skills are essential. Your role also requires direct liaison with clients, so you will be personable and able to maintain positive relationships.
