Role Value Proposition:


  • The objective of Internal Audit Actuarial is to review and test the controls around business processes and financial practices enterprise-wide to ensure the use of compliant and best practices, procedural efficiency, and accuracy. Responsibilities include conducting audits, preparing reports of audit findings for business managers, proposing recommendations for changes as needed, and participating consultatively in implementing changes to the extent possible


Key Responsibilities:


  • Create and foster relationships with the Actuarial units within the business throughout Asia, including the Chief Actuaries
  • Recognised as a strong candidate to participate on business partnering assignments due to strong technical skills, project management abilities, and knowledge of the Company
  • Partner with business Auditor-in-Charge in planning and executing audits
  • Coordinate and compile risk analysis and audit programs for complex audits in accordance with audit standards
  • Coordinate and compile business process and key control information for audits
  • Provide actuarial support to various auditing units
  • Perform complex actuarial calculations
  • Analyse and assess financial statements for accuracy and completeness
  • Assess the control structure of the actuarial processes
  • Communicate business aspects of the actuarial issues to management
  • Prepare audit presentations addressing audit evaluations and issues
  • Develop audit work papers and audit reports utilising departmental guidance
  • Make recommendations to Actuarial Management to bring about value added changes to the actuarial processes


Principal Responsibilities:


  • This position reports to the VP Internal Audit, Actuarial
  • Effective management, coaching, and development of their report(s)
  • Develop Internal Audit's capabilities strategy and ensure effective and meaningful delivery to the department, partnering with HR partners as appropriate
  • Consult with senior IA leadership and various contacts throughout the global department to determine training needs, developing the training strategy to meet those needs
    • Competency training initiative
    • eLearning modules (e.g., IIA)
  • Recruitment for the department
    • Recruiter relationship management
    • College relationship management
  • Manage the Future Leaders Development Program
  • Work proactively with Learning & Development for training development
  • Drive the department's performance development process in conjunction with HR partners
  • Responsible for the development of a training site on One People Place and the development of training tracking solutions for the department


Requirements:

Required
  • Qualified actuary or an extensive experience in actuarial valuations and audit
  • 10 years + experience
  • Fluent in English, Japanese, Mandarin or Korean language skill desirable


Preferred
  • Conversant with insurance regulations and pronouncements
  • Strong presentation, written, relationship management, and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and at times lead a small project team
