Change Public Practice are working with an Independent Chartered Accountancy firm in Glasgow City Centre to assist them in the recruitment of an experienced Accounts and Audit Supervisor. This role will suit someone who has a mixed general practice and audit background and who is a qualified CA and has a Public Practice background.

This Chartered Accountancy firm in Glasgow has a strong client base across the Central Belt with a strong presence in the Charity sector. Due to retirement and succession planning of this business, this client is looking for an experienced Supervisor for an Accounts and Audit role with a predominant focus on general practice accountancy and tax work. This role will involve preparation and review of work prior to Partner review and will also offer the right individual a path for future progression to Partnership if this is something that is desired.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Preparation of statutory annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
· Preparation and review of corporate and personal tax returns and submitting to HMRC
· Producing management accounts and VAT returns
· Involved in the full audit cycle from start to completion for various client engagements including within the charity sector
· Review of work prepared by junior members of staff and providing feedback and making amendments when required
· Training and mentoring junior members of staff when required
· Liaise closely with clients and senior staff within the firm
· Build and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally

Requirements include:

· Must be a fully qualified Chartered Accountant i.e. ICAS/ACCA
· Ideally a minimum of 4-5 years’ Accounts and Audit experience within a Public Practice firm i.e. Big 4, Top 10, mid-tier CA firm, independent CA firm
· Have strong experience in the preparation of annual accounts for sole trader, partnerships and limited companies
· Strong Audit experience gained within the Charity sector would be advantageous in addition to other sector experience
· Previous experience of mentoring junior members of staff including reviewing accounts and audit files to send for Partner review is required
· Strong communication and relationship building skills is highly desirable
