Finance Director

An rare opportunity to join a growing Sussex business as a commercial Finance Director as a board member and support their continued growth. You would be responsible for leading and developing the finance team to support annual double-digit growth.

Our client, an award winning, diverse and rapidly growing online retail and manufacturing company based between Brighton and Eastbourne is looking to recruit an exceptional Finance Director. This is a newly created role and a key appointment, as this individual will take a leadership role and support continued growth and aspirations to move to the next level. The Board has committed to a change and development programme to grow the B2C online business with a view to annual double-digit growth and a focus on margin improvement/retention. This individual would be part of the Board team leading the strategic decision-making process and be responsible for leading and developing the finance team to support this growth.

Description

Working closely with the MD and senior management team, the new role of Finance Director will be integral to the overall success and performance of the business. Sitting on the Board , you will inform and contribute to strategic decision-making, but also challenge assumptions when necessary. With an emphasis on analysis, strategy and commercial drivers rather than statutory reporting, other key responsibilities will include:

• Hands on leadership and management of a small finance team

• The interpretation and understanding of business performance

• Provide an analytical and detailed approach to business reporting and analysis

• Continuous drive to improve reporting, processes and systems

• Oversee the annual strategic planning and budgeting process

• Ensure the delivery and execution of a robust FP&A function

• Challenge the norm to develop bottom and top-line growth

Profile

The successful individual will be an experienced and qualified (ACA / CIMA/ ACCA) finance professional with a commercial and entrepreneurial outlook.

They will be a leader of people and a supportive team member with a strong focus on developing others.

They will have a hands-on approach and be able to quickly switch from strategic thinking to leading and managing a small team, at an operational level.

They will be commercially astute and have experience of working in a growth orientated business, ideally within an online retail business and/or a manufacturing environment.

The successful individual will have a passion for excellence be able to demonstrate where they have set up processes, procedures and systems to support growth and improve profit margins.

They will have excellent communication and presentation skills and be comfortable from day one at being an active member at board meetings

Job Offer

A competitive salary package of £65,000- £75,000 and the opportunity to join a fast-growing business. The package will include the opportunity to earn bonus and share options.
