Description
- To deliver accurate, high quality monthly management accounts and reports to deadlines and to required standards (including Income & Expenditure A/c & Balance Sheet).
- Strategic analysis and critical review of Management Reports and providing in depth commentary to senior management to explain variances
- Provide variance analysis and commentary in support of the SMT Pack, incorporating notes and updates as directed
- Continually adapt and improve management reports as agreed with Finance Manager
- Address all inaccuracies or differences with services regarding their source data to ensure accuracy and completeness of all incoming data
- Ability to interpret data into meaningful financial information
- Production of reports for SMT monthly and Committee meetings when required.
- To lead business partnership with Service Managers and Financial Manager within the organization and providing Finance support to senior management as well as non-Finance professionals in understanding and managing financial performance.
- Management and development of the Management Accountants.
- Assist the Finance Manager in management of finance staff.
- Deputise for the Finance Manager where necessary.
- Responsible for accrual and prepayment procedures.
- To assist as required in the budget preparation process.
- To liaise with service units, ensuring they comply with the correct accounting procedures.
- Have a flexible approach to work, willing to play a full role in ensuring the success of the team
- To undertake any other reasonable duties falling within the role of Management Accountant as identified by the Director of Finance and/or the Finance Manager.
- To undertake, any reasonable travelling requirements, in order to fulfil the tasks and responsibilities of the role.
