Job Title: Financial Accountant
Responsible to: Accounting Manager
Salary: Up to £40,000
Location: Birchwood, Warrington

Due to our tremendous growth and recent acquisition, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team based in the Head office in Warrington.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with practice background and has some exposure to industry environment, to work within a fast paced and growing organisation!

Responsibilities:

  • Taking a lead financial role in mergers and acquisitions;
  • Provide recommendations for future cash flow management where necessary.
  • Support the payroll function working closely with HR
  • Statutory Accounting.
  • Produce and provide external financial reports ( HMRC, ONS, Banks etc)
  • Working closely with the Accounting Manager in coordination of year end / month end ledger closures, ensuring controls are abided by and accounting time table is kept.
  • Production of returns in respect of Taxation (VAT, Corp), and developing more efficient tax reporting methods.
  • Act as Mentor to the finance team's finance students

Personal Specification:

  • Extensive experience in working with the application of accounting policies and standards in the hands creation and filing of Statutory Accounts (Companies Act, FRS, GAAP).
  • Experience in accounting for transactions included in merger / acquisition work (Hive up, Hive down of assets etc.)
  • Advanced level use of office IT systems
  • Experience of working with stakeholders and large scale data
  • Experience of data analysis and interrogation tools and methodologies and demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate at stakeholder and senior management lever - high level of interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Proven Team Mentorship / Management skills and experience.
  • To be proactive and inquisitive, possess high levels of drive and determination.
  • Must be able to work independently and act on their own initiative after receiving appropriate direction.

Qualifications:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Ideally educated to a degree level (IT, Math, Finance) with experience of working in data planning environment for large blue chip organisations

Hours required:

8.00am to 5pm Monday to Friday
