Finance manager - Fixed Assets

Finance Manager - Fixed Assets Based in Luton, Bedfordshire, our client is well-known and fast growing company looking for Finance Manager to manage the Fixed Assets team. This job would suit a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or ACMA) with excellent academics, preferably with a degree from a leading university and would suit someone making their first move out of practice. The job will involve managing the Fixed assets team and working with the Financial Controller to develop a best in class Financial and reporting capability for fixed assets. The job will also include financial reporting, ensuring the integrity and full statutory compliance of financial statements externally and providing high quality first line reporting internally. The successful individual will be a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or ACMA) with a strong understanding of the core principles of asset accounting processes. The candidate must have rounded technical skills with experience across a range of accounting and financial areas. A structure, methodical and open-minded approach to business analysis operational decision making is essential. The candidate must be able to challenge others and be confident whilst maintaining strong and professional relationships. Experience of managing others is essential along with proven experience managing audit processes for fixed assets. Duties will include: Support preparation of all Fixed assets information to a high level of accuracy and to required timescalesSupport the balance sheet reconciliation, to ensure appropriate actions are undertaken to clear reconciliation items promptlyTo ensure that the we adhere to all internal and external accounting policies and proceduresSupport the technical considerations and be a reference point for all technical issuesTo ensure that all assets and entries are correctly recorded in the appropriate statutory entitiesMonthly preparation and review of all additions reports, for taxation and audit purposes and support all questionsReview of transactions to ensure correct accountingManage and develop team, through active coaching, clear development plans and objectivesSupport the complete review of the end to end process review and ensure all processes are well documented and understood and appropriate improvements recommended and understoodAssist with the ownership of the end to end fixed assets processes, identifying and driving through improvementsEnsure integrity of the Fixed asset base and agreeing and signing off policies and processes in line with business realityDeliver a more automated process with clear process flows that generate robust reporting and insightEnsure full review of the WIP projects and ensure that depreciation is started promptlyUnderstand the pipeline database reporting for capital expenditureUnderstand the drivers of the overhead cost baseDevelop efficient processes to support the business partners to report overheads For more information about this role or any other Finance Manager roles in Luton, Bedfordshire, please contact me in confidence or visit our website www.mrkassociates.co.uk Every application will receive a response as this is the recognised working practice at MRK Associates.
