I'm currently recruiting a Head of Finance to join a growing business in Blackpool.

Reporting into the Chief Executive, the Head of Finance will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient day to day financial management, accuracy and integrity of the financial accounting systems.

This is to include all aspects budgeting, forecast planning and reporting, together with the responsibilities for the banking, invoicing, debt collection and creditor payments, tax, audit, cashflow and payroll functions of the finance department.

We are looking for a dynamic, professional and engaging candidate to join a company that is looking to expand. Somebody who is used to working in a very fast paced environment and industry is also key.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Manage the day to day operation of the Finance function to ensure the provision of a high quality service to stakeholders
Ensuring the accounting records are maintained to a high standard of accuracy and integrity
Enhancing and then maintaining the internal financial controls, procedures and processes to ensure a robust financial control framework is in place to protect the company's assets
Lead the preparation and consolidation of the annual financial budget. Providing support to budget holders to build accurate and achievable budgets that meet the company's financial strategy
Provision of accurate financial management information to stakeholders in accordance with an agreed timetable to enable the effective financial management of the company
Attendance at board meetings and other senior management meetings as required
Regular review of financial performance and forecasts with budget holders, alerting senior
management to potential issues
Ensure compliance with VAT and tax regulations including VAT and tax return submission
Maintain accurate cash flow forecasts and ensure appropriate treasury management
practices in place
Leading the preparation and audit of the annual report and accounts
Overseeing the operation of the payroll function, ensuring accuracy of processing and
compliance with HMRC and pension Auto-Enrolment regulations
Day to day line management of the Financial Accountant, Accounts Payable Clerk and
Accounts Receivable Clerk
Conducting annual appraisals, performance reviews, team meetings and other management
duties to ensure good team performance and achievement of core objectives
Approving payments of invoices, expenses and amounts owed by BACS on a weekly basis.
At all times consider how your role can support the strategic objectives of the business.Person Specification:

ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, industry experience essential
Experience of direct line management, mentoring and supervision of staff
Significant experience operating at a senior level, including financial reporting to the Board of Directors
Experience in the production of Management and Statutory accounts within agreed deadlines
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Excellent analytical skills and advanced Excel skills
High level of technical competence and a keen eye for financial detail
Proven team player
First-rate planning skills with the ability to devise, plan & execute work plant to achieve objectives
