Join us as an Operational Risk Manager, aligned to the Business Operational Risk Management Assurance team, and support our growing retail banking operations. Working directly with key stakeholders within our business, you will actively manage operational risk across our retail businesses, with an emphasis on ensuring our Controls Assurance framework is effective.

You will ensure identification, management and mitigation of operational risks and additionally working with business units to develop a strong risk management culture. You will enjoy working independently as well as collaboratively within our team of specialists.

To achieve this, you'll assist in developing operational risk frameworks, a strong risk management culture and provide expert operational risk advice. By completing targeted reviews, critical control assurance and self-assessments, you will lead the implementation and maintenance of effective risk management and control frameworks.

Partnering with the business to ensure they understand their role in effective operational risk management, conducting and education where needed.

You will monitor and apply changes in operational risk rules and regulations and participate in appropriate Macquarie risk related committees.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal clients and other internal risk teams, including the Risk Management Group will be key. You'll regularly meet senior leadership (including Wealth leadership team) to ensure their satisfaction with the business's risk oversight management.

For success in this role, you will have proven and significant operational risk expertise gained within the financial services sector, preferably with experience working in Professional Services firms. This may through your experience in a direct operational risk, audit or compliance role.

You will be familiar with retail or wholesale banking regulatory frameworks.

You'll ideally have experience leading high-performance teams or projects (including large operations teams with high transaction volumes and complex IT systems), and have assisted in applying policies and procedures by coordinating training with staff members.

You will also have tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Audit, Finance, Commerce or a similar discipline.
