KPMG Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS), seeks to identify General Accounting Officers to support the Finance and Accounting (F&A) General Accounting process area; performing tasks related to maintaining the general ledger, reconciliations, preparing and processing journal entries, and maintaining information within various accounting systems. Additional requirements include preparing and delivering reporting, analytics, and quality assurance.
The position will be assigned to our rapidly growing KPMG Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS), which provides services to a major client in the United States.
* Responsible for moderate to complex activities associated with maintaining general ledger accounts.
* Prepares special complex reports and analyses
* Reconcile moderate to complex balance sheet accounts on a daily and/or monthly basis
* Prepare various types of reconciliations and analysis
* Research, follow up on and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner
* Prepare journal entries and post to the General Ledger
* Process fixed asset maintenance
* Maintain adequate support for posted General Ledger entries
* Analyzes and addresses issues by evaluating different alternatives within a wide variety of established procedures
* Prioritizes work assignments in order to meet deadlines
Education / Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited college or university required
* Minimum of two years progressive accounting experience
* Ability to take guidance from Team Lead and Senior Officer regarding account processes and procedures
* Intermediate to advanced knowledge and use of office productivity tools (Excel and other MS Office products, Accounting software, etc.)
* Working knowledge of SAP General Ledger module preferred
* Exercises independent judgment in creating and selecting ways to complete work assignments
* Capable of being entrusted with "confidential" information
* Support an environment focused on customer satisfaction
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing as well as the ability to actively participate in phone calls and Skype meetings
* Ability to collaborate with other team members and Client's stakeholders
* Ability to be flexible with job duties and scope of work

* Ability to establish a "customer service" culture
* Ability to analyze customer needs through soliciting, evaluating and acting upon customer feedback
* Ability to interact courteously with customers and ensure interactions are of a high quality of service.
