Finance Manager

Responsibility Summary:

As the key Finance leader in the GBS location on Finance related complexities; the GBS Finance Support Lead provides leadership and direction to the teams that deliver:

• General accounting including general ledger maintenance and closing, fixed asset maintenance, payroll bookings and intercompany, for US GAAP and Polish Statutory books
• Budget vs. Actual variance reporting
• Leading the team of Vendor Master Data Management

Polish legal entity Accounts Payable function and Poland Employee Travel and Expense reimbursement

Key Accountabilities:

• Works closely with local Finance contacts during General Ledger close to ensure completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with corporate policies, US GAAP, Local Reporting and Statutory requirements
• Being responsible for leading and managing full accounting operations
• Maintains and executes internal control activities including but not limited to those identified by QVC to maintain compliance to Sarbanes Oxley requirements
• Preparation of the business and financial planning for Poland GBS, consolidation of budgets prepared by functional budget owners
• Identifies and recommends necessary changes in financial policies and procedures to optimize effective and efficient performance across all finance processes
• Performing audits of financial statements according to both Polish and International Accounting Standards
• Maintaining relationships with third parties including financial institutions, auditors, tax authorities
• Preparing audit documentation, including designing and performing of audit procedures and controls, including evaluation of those controls
• Liaising with external and internal auditors, sharing relevant information with the auditors
• Delivers performance that meets or exceeds service level agreement requirements
• Responsible for staff training and education
• Provides performance feedback to team members
• Resolves conflict and assist others as required
• Defines performance measurements for the Finance Teams
• Leading the Master Data Management team that perform vendor account maintenance, secure and verify any banking information changes related to vendor and maintain authorization chain tables in the system
• Overseeing the process for travel & expenses

Critical Skills/Knowledge:

• University degree with a major in accounting or Finance
• ACCA or equivalent certification required
• Certified as Polish Auditor
• Experience working in a shared service / GBS environment preffered
• 10+ years of practical accounting experience, with at least 4 to 5 years of public accounting experience preferred
• Experience with SAP Finance systems preferred
• Experience interfacing with business operational customers in defining accounting information and accounting service requirements
• Experience in process improvement activities
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office suites
