NGO educating young people strengthening their abilities

Our partner is the national scouting organization of Rwanda. Their mission is youth-oriented and aims at educating young people to become more responsible citizens and strengthening their abilities.

You will begin with an internal review of their existing financial procedures, systems and controls and making recommendations for best practice, suitable to their resources and capacity. Their last audit was done in 2016 and they estimate a new audit in 2019/early 2020 – you will be assisting in improving the procedures and controls, to make sure they are prepared both for the external audit and meeting standards for potential donors.

They have a full-time Finance and Admin Officer on a full time position. You will be working together, assessing her capacity and providing 1:1 coaching and capacity building as necessary. They are currently working with Excel and you will be improving their use of the system, and evaluate if they might benefit from switching to an accounting software.
