Insurance Accountant

This insurance accountant role will be part of the Finance Team, aiding statutory and management accounting and driving interaction across the wider Finance community

Key aspects include: Heavy involvement in statutory accounting and regulatory returns, Support in the production of consolidated group management accounts, Budgeting and forecasting and financial analysis. Support the balance sheet reconciliations and controls

This role entails key interactions with finance and stakeholders across the Group. With a market leader in the insurance sector for their niche specialism they have a Strong culture of rewarding and developing staff, with this role like many others offering a Job rotation; every 6 months or so, giving great cross training through accounting and giving broad experience in the department and insurance industry.

Insurance Accountant Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Profile

Skills and abilities needed to perform role;

· Heavy involvement in statutory accounting and regulatory returns

· Support in the production of consolidated group management accounts, Budgeting and forecasting and financial analysis

· Support the balance sheet reconciliations and controls

· MS Office Literate (Advanced Excel - nested vlookups, data manipulation, pivot tables etc)

· Flexible and able to quickly adapt to changes

· Motivated and resilient

· Accuracy & attention to detail

· Good organisational skills and communication skills (written and verbal)

· Working within a high pressure environment

· Desire to progress your career within accounting in a dynamic and pleasant environment

Qualifications

· Finalist stage Accountant from a recognised body (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience

· Good academics
