Group Accountant

Due to exceptional growth Robert Walters are exclusively representing a private equity backed financial services organisation based in South Manchester in their search for a Group Accountant.

The Group Accountant will work closely with and support the Finance Director in ensuring that accurate and timely financial and management information is produced by the Finance Department.

Overseeing a small finance team you will be responsible for duties as follows:

Monthly management accounts including consolidations and supporting schedules

VAT returns

Monthly payroll

Business performance KPI for the management team

Ensuring the ledger and processes run effectively and in line with procedures

Ensure all financial statutory and compliance obligations are fulfilled

Preparation of budget and forecasting information

Understanding and analysing the business' key value drivers, business risks and opportunities

Assisting in the financial feasibility and affordability of projects and proposed investments

Aiding the Treasury staff as required

Contributing to the improvement of systems and procedures

Providing comprehensive cover for the Group Finance Manager

CHAPS Authorising as required

Ad hoc reporting as required
The successful candidate will have skills and experience as follows:

ACA/ACCA qualified

Commercially astute with an ability to take a strategic perspective

High degree of analytical skills

Excellent knowledge of accounting, financial reporting standards and legislative requirements (VAT, taxation)

Excellent communicator with the ability to inspire confidence in both finance and non-finance colleagues

Experienced in the use of Excel (incl the use of macros) and information databases (eg Access)

Ability to use initiative coupled with demonstrable problem solving skills
