Page Personnel are working with a Global Manufacturing brand to recruit a Cost management accountant. Joining a well established business in a busy accountancy function, this is an excellent opportunity based in the Wirral.

Description

This Cost Management Accountant role will be responsible for the following:

Inventory Management

  • Ensure standard costing is applied to inventory items, updating items for BOM amendments on a weekly basis and revaluations when required
  • Review monthly material costs filed for changes and inconsistencies

Weekly & Month End Reporting

  • Production of inventory valuation reports & analysis
  • Production of stock provisioning reports & analysis
  • production of material and production variance reports & analysis
  • publication of month end reporting pack
  • production & publication of the weekly finance report, including weekly sales.
  • Update data in BW stock, production volume and cost centre cubes

Reconciliation of data between reporting systems

  • Reconciliations of sales, cost of sales and manufacturing costs on a weekly basis between SAP / BW
  • Able to identify the causes of discrepancies between BW & SAP and resolve the root cause of the problem

Data integrity

  • Ensure the data held in BW and SAP has integrity and is maintained in a timely fashion with any issues identifies and resolves
  • Ensure that the structure of the database is optimised and is working optimally

Development of reporting tools

  • Proactively develop more efficient reporting across financial control

Profile

The successful candidate will require the following:

  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment, using integrated ERP systems
  • Project management skills to manage change
  • Ability to work in a structured manner
  • Analysis and evaluation of data produced to understand implications and implement the corrective actions required where necessary
  • able to work in process orientated environment
  • willing to work remotely in order to complete tasks within agreed time frames and may need to be completed when other people are not using the reporting systems
  • knowledge of ERP systems, business warehouse databases, forecasting tools e.g. Cognos planner, excel, Access (design and implement applications), database management
  • Part qualified accounting qualification, knowledge of financial / management accounting with practical experience, developed system skills, implementing reporting improv's
  • Demonstrate experience of implementing reporting improvements
