A exciting opportunity for an experinced Purchase Ledger Clerk / Accounts Assistant to join a growing business in Wigan. The successful candidate will be the point of contact for the purchase ledger functions.

Client Details

The successful Purchase Ledger Clerk will be joining a supportive team and will join a hard working, busy and fun environment. Offering the opportunity to raise invoices, reconcile supplier statements alongside match bath and coding. You will ensure all invoices and credit notes processed via the correct procedure. .


Purchase Ledger clerk/ Account payable key duties include:

  • Purchase ledger and payment function for the company
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to purchase ledger procedure
  • Building relationships with suppliers and employees
  • Resolve supplier queries
  • Checking and processing monthly staff expenses
  • Invoice coding
  • Account reconciliation
  • Production of monthly accruals
  • Preparation of payment runs ready for approval and payment
  • Prepare internal reports for senior management


The successful Purchase Ledger / Accounts payable candidate will be/ have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of Microsoft Excel to include basic formulas and lookups
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Confidence in learning new systems

Job Offer

Salary - £11p/h - £12 p/h
