International distribution company located in Swindon now seeks to appoint a Head of Finance to lead both its operational and commercial finance agendas. As part of its 2025 strategy, the organisation is looking to strengthen its Senior Management Team to ensure it is set up for future success. Reporting to the Finance Director you will lead the reporting agenda and be expected to play a key part in business insights projects and other commercial activities. You will support delivery of the cashflow targets and provide meaningful and timely analysis of business performance to allow course correction. In addition you will regularly assess the financial processes in supporting financial data preparation and assets safeguarding.

Specific activities include:
  • Co-ordinate the month-end activities, set the month-end timetable and review progress. Review and sign off the Profit & Loss Accounts and Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Re-engineering key reporting practices ensuring they are fit for future purpose
  • Business partnering with Exec Stakeholders and providing financial support, challenge and guidance
  • Challenging strategic processes and promoting business re-engineering activities
  • Statutory reporting (UK GAAP and IFRS)
  • Co-present to the Board monthly
  • Driving the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Providing input into the ongoing business strategy

About You

Your career history to date should demonstrate a move into the corporate world from Big4 which includes extensive reporting experience. Naturally the role would appeal to an ACA or ACCA qualified Accountant, likely 5-8 years PQE with a track record of financial control in an international setting. With multi-currency consolidations experience gained in large, complex organisations, you will have a collegiate approach and be at ease working in a matrix environment.
