Interim Chief Accountant

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Chief Accountant is responsible for the accuracy of consolidated statutory reporting and month end closing. The position is responsible for the effective operation across the Group of robust internal controls related to financial reporting, managing external audit activities and adopting best practices together with driving process efficiencies through simplification. Key Responsibilities Ensure effective functioning of financial controls, including delivery of accurate and timely reports to demanding timetablesLeadership, project management and delivery of the financial statements for all global legal entities to an agreed timetable. Working closely with the country and regional controllers to deliver accurate, insightful Annual Reports prepared in accordance with relevant IFRS and local accounting standards to all relevant Board members. Provide supporting information at meetings held for review and approvalProvide technical accounting support to the regional controllers for complex transactionsSupport with the adoption of new or revised IFRS accounting standardsWork with the IT organization to enable process improvements as part of the ERP implementationPrimary interface for Group external auditors; support in preparation for AuditCommittee and Risk Committee reviewsManage regional controllers, setting goals and objectives, coaching and assessing performance, developing personnel and managing budgets Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) with a minimum of 10 years' professional experience working for multinational companies and strong commercial acumenStrong technical accounting background, including knowledge of IFRS & solid experience in producing financial statementsExtensive experience with ERP and associated ledger systems - Microsoft Dynamics AX would be preferredExperience interfacing with external auditors; detailed knowledge of statutory reporting requirements
