We are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team in Basildon on an interim basis to cover maternity leave. The ideal candidate should be flexible, passionate and looking for a stable opportunity with this role lasting for approximately 12 months, this will also encompass a period where we transition over to a new ERP system. The Role: The ideal candidate will have previous experience of accounts payable, reconciliations of purchase ledger statements and balance sheet accounts, double entry bookkeeping and the ability to deal with a high volume of purchase invoices. Key Responsibilities: Maintaining and posting general ledgersReconciliation of month end and suppliers statementsData entrySending remittance of payment to suppliersPreparing BACS payments for suppliersFiling Invoices and statements individually for each supplierAssisting with the Management / Year End AccountsBank reconciliationsProcessing and reconciliation of petty cash payments in line with company policies Skills: Ideally 1-2 years previous experience with accounts payableAdequate knowledge and experience with Sage Accounts would be advantageousA competent user of Microsoft ExcelExcellent analytical and mathematics skillsA 'can do' attitudeA strong command of the English language both written and verbalOrganized with a flexible approach, ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines Qualification: AAT or Part ACCA or CIMA qualified would be advantageous If this sounds like the role for you please apply today
