Full Time Permanent Position available in our Radiology Department. ROLE PURPOSE You must practice within the Codes of Professional Conduct, Rules and Guidelines set out by The Irish Institute of Radiography and comply with the policies and procedures of Blackrock Clinic. Personally and professionally you are accountable to the patient. You are personally accountable for your own actions at all times. QUALIFICATIONS BSc in Radiography or the equivalent and a recognised post qualification or 3 years post graduate experience. CORU Registration is a requirement for this role Patient Care Perform general radiographic duties including mobiles and theatre radiography. Continually assess patient condition. Ensure a high standard of radiography and patient care is maintained Collaborate with other health care team members within the defined clinical area in accordance with the patient care. Co-operate and take part in on call emergency system in the operation of the department. Plan work to allow time for training, meetings etc. Provide safe, comprehensive Radiography based on current standards and research, perform procedures according to established policy and procedures. Ensure that appropriate radiation protection is used and that the radiation dose is kept to a minimum consistent with the diagnostic requirements. Report any defects in equipment or equipment relevant to the Radiology department, RSM or Radiographer in Charge. Undertake when necessary administrative and clerical tasks to facilitate the smooth running of the department. Provide care with minimal supervision in a timely accurate and safe manner. Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors and colleagues. Advocate as necessary for the patients, respecting their dignity and confidentiality. Function effectively in an emergency situation. Adapt to changing workloads. Know and practice within the radiological protection institute of Ireland requirements including those set down by Irish Institute of Radiography. Evaluate and update records appropriately. Evaluate personal Radiography practice as compared to standards of care and know own ability and competence. Participate in quality assurance by assisting to identify recurrent problems and co-operate in data collection and problem solving. Participate in the general on call rota within the Radiology Department and in out of hours/overtime within the Nuclear Medicine Department.
