Assistant Management Accountant

My client, a market leading specialist manufacturing business within a nice market sector, is currently looking to recruit a progressive and driven Assistant Management Accountant to join their talented Finance Team. You will be responsible for supporting the provision of a wide range of financial information which provides sound basis for management control and decision making. You will be responsible for preparing weekly production reporting and comparisons to budget and will also take responsibility for ensuring the integrity of the product costing system and the accuracy of stock valuations. Key Responsibilities; Prepare weekly and monthly production reports, ensuring all required reports are balanced, accurate and submitted within the appropriate timeline.Responsible for maintaining KPI reporting as related to production, ensuring data is relevant, accurate and input on a timely basis.Responsibility for physical inventory controls relating to raw materials, packaging and finished goods, ensuring these controls meet internal and external controls requirements.Prepare accurate weekly spend reports on maintenance and issues of stores items by production area.Prepare monthly accruals on energy & utilities, industrial cleaning, and other contractor costs.Reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring that any discrepancies are identified and resolved.Responsible for the compilation of information in order to establish the unit costs of production as part of the standard cost and annual budget process in conjunction with the Senior Management Accountant. This includes maintaining bills of materials files and updating production parameters in the costing system for each item, plus calculating and updating activity rates.Support the external and internal audit process on site, ensuring assistance is given as required to enable a smooth audit.Provide effective cover for the Senior Management Accountant as required.In addition to the responsibilities listed, other duties may be assigned by the Finance Manager.Some travel may be required. Requirements; Part qualified or studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA).Previous management accounting experience in a manufacturing environment essential.Strong analytical ability and efficient time management skills are required.Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel. Experience of SAP desirable. Systems implementation experience advantageous.Effective communication, administrative, and organisational skills are required.
