The client are a global education company that are based in South West London (South Kensington). They operate throughout Europe, in the UK, and in the United States. They are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join the team on a permanent basis and help to manage the Purchase ledger. The working hours are 9.00 - 17.00, and they are offering study support.

Client Details

The client are a global organisation, that specialise in global education and childcare. They are a very large company, with offices in Europe, the UK and the US. The office is based in South West London (South Kensington) and they are looking for a permanent Accounts Assistant to join their team.


The successful Accounts Assistant will be:

Staff Expenses

  • Processing expenses via paper form and Concur (online expense system)
  • Reconciliation of staff Fairfx/Amex card transactions
  • Administration of Concur and user training
  • Staff float control

Polish Office Support

  • Agent commissions and other payments via Citibank Handlowy
  • Applicant refunds via Citibank/Dotpay (online credit card)
  • Funding of Polish office via Citibank Handlowy

Monthly Reconciliations

  • Analysis of legal/professional/building maintenance/cleaning & miscellaneous expenses
  • Reconciliation of DotPay & Citibank Handlowy
  • Attendee and VAT analysis of staff entertaining
  • Staff float control reconciliation

Creditor control/analysis

  • PAYE reconciliations

Cyril Taylor Charitable Foundation

  • Book keeping entries
  • Bank payments

Petty Cash

  • Quarterly reconciliations of petty cash for High School/Administration/College
  • Preparing documentation for restoring petty cash balances

Year End

  • Assist the Finance team with year end reporting
  • Cash in safe count and reconciliation
  • Prepare bank reconciliations with supporting documentation


  • Cover for Accountant/Purchase Ledger Controller
  • Entering manual payments to Great Plains
  • Standard returns for National Statistics
  • Liaise with other staff; departments; banks; and suppliers as required
  • Other projects as may be assigned from time to time


The successful Accounts Assistant will:

  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have experience doing staff expenses
  • Experience doing bank reconciliations
  • Experience using Concur (desirable, not essential)
  • Excel skills (comfortable)
  • Experience working with the Purchase ledger
