Commercial Accountant

Key Objectives Ensure that all sales deduction transactions including rebates, sales allowances, co-op marketing and price protection are complete, accurate and valid, and are processed on a timely basis. Key Responsibilities... • Manage the day-to-day process of accounting for sales deductions undertaken by the Business Division to drive revenue and margin. • Evaluate the return on investment of these activities, steer business decisions and support the Business Division in maximising their commercial return. • Ensure all commercial terms and conditions, and sales incentives are properly documented and agreed either via the relevant contract templates or Deal Sheets. Maintain an up-to-date contract log of all commercial terms and conditions. • Take accountability for the processing of all financial transactions around sales deductions in Samsung's financial and legal systems. • Ensure that these costs and accruals are completely and accurately recorded, correctly classified, that spend is appropriately justified and within budget/authority limits, and that supporting processes are efficient and effective. • Responsible for the managing the monthly financial planning process for the DA Division in conjunction with the Senior Commercial Finance Manager DA, Display and Print and key business division stakeholders • Support the Senior Commercial Finance Manager DA, Display and Print as required in driving the financial performance of the DA Division (e.g. financial appraisal of major deals/initiatives, providing value-added analysis and reporting). • Providing additional ad-hoc financial support as required by Senior Commercial Finance Manager DA, Display and Print Produce regular management reporting on activities performed by the Finance Operations function, in particular, sales deduction processing and accounts receivable. Reporting should: • Focus on performance and control • Provide clear and meaningful analysis of business trends and drivers; • Identify issues and drive actions/behaviours to resolve problems rather than merely reporting the numbers. • Ad hoc reports, analysis and projects as directed by the Senior Commercial Finance Manager DA, Display and Print and the Head of Finance. • Ensure Global Policies and Procedures are kept up to date. • Supervise day to day responsibilities of DA Business Support Executive Key Competencies/Characteristics... You should have begun your ACCA or CIMA Study and aim to complete the qualification Experiece in Industry Finance • Experience in SAP / ERP system • Ability to work under pressure (e.g. tight deadline) • Work as both individual / team member • Excellent communication skills • Strong analytical skills To be successful in this role you ideally have:- • Advanced Excel & Power Point skills • Understanding of Consumer Electronics/IT business & market
