Accounts Payable Clerk
Reports to: Finance Manager
Based at: Fleet (Head Office)
Job Purpose Summary:
Ensure all expenditures (supplier invoices, employee expenses and company credit cards) are correctly recorded within the SAGE accounting system and all invoices and expenses are paid according to agreed timescales / supplier terms for all group companies.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
* Ensure all invoices are authorised, coded and entered onto Sage
* Processing of weekly payment runs on the banks and then reconciling on Sage and emailing remittance advices to suppliers
* Verifying, processing on SAGE and paying expense claims for employees
* Reconciliation of Creditors control account on SAGE and supplier statements
* Reconciliation of 7 x credit card statement monthly across CV-Library and Resume Library and process in SAGE.
* Responsible for petty cash administration and recording in SAGE
* Checking and updating cashflows for all bank accounts
* Running and sending relevant reports through Sage
* Audit of suppliers on the bank and improvement of the payment process
* Handle & resolve queries raised by suppliers and internal stakeholders via email or over the phone
* Maintain filing of paid invoices, bank/credit card statements and expenses
* Assist the Finance Manager & Assistant Accountant with other ad hoc duties
Person Requirements:
* At least 1 year of experience working in a similar position (essential)
* Knowledge and experience of Sage 50 Accounts package (essential)
* Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)
* Experience of dealing with multiple currency transactions (GBP, USD, Euro)
* Excellent verbal and written communication
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Be able to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
* Have a flexible and adaptable nature
