Our Internal Audit (IA) function adds value to Sainsbury's Bank by providing assurance on our risk management and control processes relating to customer, financial and reputational risk. As Internal Audit Business Manager, you will support the Head of Audit (HoA) and Senior Audit Managers (SAMs) in delivering an independent and objective risk-based IA service which will systematically improve our risk management, control and governance processes. We are looking for someone with experience in risk and control activities in financial services. An understanding of audit would be great but, more importantly, we need someone who is adaptable, who naturally builds great relationships with a variety of stakeholders and is focussed on results. In this role you will enjoy being responsible for a wide variety of IA risk management, governance, reporting and project activities. Your role responsibilities will include: Co-ordinating the delivery of high quality IA reporting for presentation to governance committees, identifying trends and themes and suggesting and delivering improvements to the reporting process and content Supporting the HoA and SAMs in reporting the results of IA risk activities to the Bank's Executive Committee and Audit Committee Maintaining the Internal Risk Register and managing completion of the associated action plans Carrying out regular control testing for the department and agreeing appropriate remediation action plans, managing these through to completion Completing the functional Risks & Control Self-Assessment Developing and maintaining an annual schedule of governance events and activities Identifying actions required from minutes of key Committees and ensuring timely resolution Managing the on-going Quality Assurance process, including analysis and reporting on outcomes Horizon scanning for changes to Regulations, Codes or Standards that govern IA practices Managing the IIA Code Compliance for the Audit function Maintaining the IA Manual, including identification and development of any activities required to support audit methodology Managing the training requirements for IA, overseeing the completion of the performance management process Maintaining the Continuous Improvement Plan, identifying areas of improvement for inclusion and delivering ad-hoc aspects of the plan Your skills, knowledge and experience: Experience in risk and control activities in financial servicesOperational or audit experience of financial products within financial services would be an advantageExperience in undertaking audit assignments across the front and back offices of a financial services business would be an advantageGood knowledge of retail banking businessesAwareness of audit methodologies and frameworksExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent planning and organisational skillsExcellent analytical, evaluation and problem solving skills, focussed on finding solutions with the right outcomesExcellent influencing and negotiation capabilitiesDemonstrated experience of successfully building and managing business relationshipsFocus on results and drive to meet or exceed standards, both personally and when delivering through others Qualifications CMIIA, ACCA, CA or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential Sainsbury's Bank offers an award-winning product range that includes insurance, savings, loans, credit cards and travel money.
