The Role;

We have been engaged to recruit an exciting position for one of Australia's leading insurance businesses. Sitting within their Enterprise Finance & Operations division the purpose of the role is to provide strategic business partnering to Marketing, Customer Futures & Operational Excellence functions. This includes advanced financial analysis and reporting, forecasting, budgeting and planning, financial governance, business case and costing, business insights and unique services to the areas your role will directly service. These will enable Marketing, Customer Futures & Operational Excellence functions to achieve their strategic and financial objectives.

Key Duties;

  • Develop, manage and maintain key stakeholder relationships to enable strategic financial business partnering within Marketing, Customer Futures & Operational Excellence
  • Accountable for managing, maintaining and driving the improvement of the budgeting and forecasting analysis, proactively managing risks/issues to ensure that key deliverables are in accordance with timetables and requirements
  • Managing, maintaining and improving the provision of advanced Financial Reporting, specific to Marketing, Customer Futures & Operational Excellence functions, focused on key productivity and business drivers.
  • Active engagement with developing and implementing robust standardised reporting of marketing campaigns and trend analysis with the Marketing team.
  • Manage the provision of support to develop financial targets and provide insightful reporting to enable Marketing, Customer Futures & Operational Excellence functions to monitor and track against strategic financial targets (including budget and forecast)
  • Manage the provision of financial governance, to the Marketing, Customer Futures & Operational Excellence functions, ensuring full adherence to Group Policies and Procedures
  • Manage the provision of strategic financial advice for the Marketing, Customer Futures & Operational Excellence functions including financial advice and financial target setting, marketing campaigns, complex financial valuations and financial modelling as required
  • Manage the provision of advanced expense reporting (TCE) on the productivity of the Marketing, Customer Futures & Operational Excellence functions, with a deep understanding of underlying productivity and business drivers
  • Manage the provision of advanced financial support for initiatives and BAU projects in the Marketing, Customer Futures & Operational Excellence functions, including scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis, benefit realisation, business case preparation (non Investment-Slate) and deep dive financial analysis
  • Manage the month-end process for the Marketing, Customer Futures & Operational Excellence functions
  • Contribute as required to the successful delivery of, and execution towards elements of the CFO Plan and other process improvement opportunities
  • Develop, maintain and influence key relationships across the business to support the successful delivery of key objectives through alignment of financial, operational and strategic goals
  • Provide support to colleagues within the Business Partnering - Enterprise Finance teams and the broader Finance team, as required

Key Stakeholders

  • Direct Manager - Executive Manager: Business Partnering - Enterprise Finance (Customer Labs, Group Technology & Group Services)
  • EGM Enterprise Finance & Operations

The ideal candidate will possess the following skill set;

  • Tertiary qualifications, i.e. Postgraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CA/CPA/CIMA qualified
  • Financial Management Accounting expertise required, preferably within Insurance
  • Extensive experience in finance and accounting including financial management/reporting, technical accounting knowledge, project accounting, and business commerciality
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills & extensive experience in senior executive stakeholder engagement
  • Extensive experience in advising the business in relation to financial governance and strategically advising the business with options and recommendations
  • Strong understanding of business and financial impacts of operational decisions
  • Extensive knowledge of finance reporting systems and frameworks
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask, adhere to deadlines and perform under pressure
  • Advanced financial modelling skills using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience operating and delivering results in a matrix environment and leveraging relationships to influence and drive outcomes
  • Understanding of the underlying drivers of growth and productivity associated with Marketing, Customer Futures & Operational Excellence, and an understanding and active contribution to the business strategy

Salary $140,000 + Super + Bonus ($175,000 Package)
