Finance Manager An opportunity to work for a global organisation focused on research within the pharmaceutical industry, which has grown enormously in the last 20 years with nearing 20,000 employees. You will work in the busiest part of the finance setup, interacting with colleagues who lead multiple projects, and ensuring the effective running of financial processes and controls. The Company: A large business with over 25 years experience of delivering outsourced clinical research trials and projects back to various different pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. This company competes at the very highest level within the clinical research space, and has an impressive setup globally across numerous countries with nearly 20,000 employees. The Role: Reporting in to an Associate Director, as Finance Manager you will line manage a team of project-based Financial Analysts. You will be responsible for making sure the team effectively manages Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reconciliations within set deadlines. You will lead, mentor coach your colleagues to ensure workload is well assigned and productivity is high. Your key duties include: - Liaising with other departmental managers - Ensuring timely and accurate postings into the company's monthly financial statements - Assisting with internal & external audit requirements - Day-to-day direction and management of staff, including recruitment and developing team members The Candidate: This Finance Manager role is at the heart of accurate and compliant financial analysis and reporting within this business. You should be motivated by acting as a leader in a fast-paced and demanding environment, where technical expertise is recognised and your work makes a difference to patients' lives as they benefit from the research your company conducts. You should have the following: - AAT or degree qualified - Significant experience as a finance professional, ideally having worked in a managerial role already in a large fast-paced organisation - Qualified ACCA or CIMA qualification, although candidates 'qualified-by-experience' will also be considered - Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry or clinical research is a major advantage - Project management experience; able to demonstrate successful delivery to deadlines - A sharp commercial acumen; able to confidently manage relationships with different stakeholders at different levels ideally in a large business - Prior line management and/or mentoring experience of a small team - A passion to develop others and positively contribute to growth of people around you Remuneration: The appointed Finance Manager can expect to earn between £45,000 - £55,000 basic p/a depending on their previous experience level. A company benefits package is offered on top of the base salary.
