Due to a forthcoming retirement, we are looking to appoint a new Group Accountant. This role will support the Group Financial Controller in all aspects of accounts, taxation, audit, insurance, treasury, banking and shares. The company is well-established and highly regarded, a diverse Group organisation with sites throughout the UK. The ideal appointment will be fully qualified CIMA/ACCA with experience of working within a sizeable, complex organisation. Excellent variety and commercial exposure comes with this role, ideal for someone looking for a dynamic and progressive 'number 2' role within an impressive Group organisation. Key Responsibilities: Preparation of the monthly accounts for the head office functionFacilitate the timely preparation of accurate management accounts across the group, and assist in completion as requiredUndertake analytical review on divisional accounts, highlighting any anomaliesPrepare monthly reporting schedules for Board Pack - summarising divisional performancesWork alongside Group Financial Controller with the year-end consolidation and reporting processwork alongside Group Financial Controller with the annual budgeting processComplete National Statistic Office returns for the GroupPrepare/collate information in respect of legal reporting requirementsMaintain share scheme accountsEnsure the share Ledger is kept up to date in conjunction with share registrarMaintain the accounts for Pension SchemeLiaison with third parties including the coordination of external auditorsSystems Development in conjunction with the relevant Divisional Business ManagersHandling insurance renewals and claims for GroupAdhoc projects and support to the Group Financial Controller as the business requires Qualifications and experience: Fully qualified Accountants or highly experienced 'qualified by experience' accountants should apply. Salary determined by qualification, skills and experience (Region £35,000 - £38,000)4% matched pension contributionAccess to employee share schemes3 times death in service31 days holiday (Including bank holidays). Additional information: Working Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week. Consideration will be given to applicants looking for 30 hours+. The successful applicant will need to hold a full driving licence and be happy to travel to other sites around the UK on occasions. The current incumbent will be available to give a minimum of 3 months handover.
