This is an opportunity to join the Advertising team in a key role. The candidate will be responsible for reconciling and invoicing all advertising revenue across 12 magazines and digital portfolio.

The successful candidate will report to the Business Analysis Manager, but will liaise directly with Finance, the Advertising Sales teams and I.T.

Description

This role would be particularly suitable for candidates looking to commence a career within accounting and, for the successful candidate, there are opportunities to progress within other areas of accounting in the long term.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for raising all company invoices in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Reconcile the monthly advertising content of each magazine to bookings made on the advertising system, resolving any queries directly with the sales team.
  • Provide additional monthly revenue and page analysis to the management accounts team.
  • To identify and communicate weaknesses in current invoicing procedures and help I.T. and the Business Analysis Manager make the necessary improvements.
  • Help maintain the internal advertising database through feedback from I.T., Finance and the Advertising departments.
  • Responsible for the reconciliation and payment of international sales commissions in a timely manner.
  • Provide support to sales staff in using the advertising booking system.
  • Liaise with both internal and external auditors regarding the monthly invoicing procedure.

  • Ability to use their initiative and have the confidence to suggest improvements to current procedures.
  • Optional:

  • To be currently studying, or looking to study, towards an accountancy qualification (ACCA/CIMA).
