Economics Analyst will be supporting decision making on the growth agenda and economic success, including strategic and cross-disciplinary initiatives. This Huntingdon based post will have particular emphasis on identifying trends and opportunities for growth and sustainable development through the gathering of data/evidence/information; and effective analysis of intelligence gathered and business partnering relating to ROI

Description
Economics Analyst will need to capable of seeing the bigger picture as well as the detail, with both an eye for opportunity and a methodical approach as well as the ability to communicate findings clearly and concisely.
Gathering, managing and analysing data, knowledge and information from multiple sources.
Business partnering - Analysis must then be communicated to internal and external stakeholders
Identifying key sector development opportunities and stakeholder partnerships for unlocking barriers
Promote business expansion and investment
Horizon scanning of national and regional policy trends and initiatives;
Identification of key opportunity gaps and priority sectors in terms of shaping and driving the strategic direction of economic growth;
Reports and presentations required including on: economic and business intelligence; funding, business support and other economic development related opportunities from other organisations
Profile
Economics Analyst experience and characteristics;
A degree and or other equivalent qualification. Particularly desirable degrees would include economic development, economics, social sciences, economic geography, mathematics or statistics.
An understanding of economic development trends and initiatives.
Demonstrable experience in data gathering, analysis and reporting.
Database/information management and security
Excellent networking and communication skills, verbally and in writing with a full spectrum of levels of seniority and multi-disciplined backgrounds and within partnership environments.
A flexible approach to work and a creative positive attitude towards problem solving.
The ability to apply analytical skills to diverse subject areas and to recognise linkages and relationships between different projects, issues and activities.
The capacity to assimilate information from a range of sources and to develop and communicate an understanding of the issues.
Clear and concise written and spoken communication skills
Ability to present written and statistical information in a structured and balanced way appropriate to the needs of the reader.
Confidence in presenting complicated and detailed information clearly and concisely as appropriate to audience need.
